November, 1921, I have the honour to request that the last
sentence of paragraph 8 of the Conditions of Appointment for Hongkong Police Probationers may be amended to read
Superintendents are entitled to free quarters only if required to live in Police Quarters. If permitted
to reside elsewhere they will be required to pay rent
under the Scheme of Government Rented Quarters or Rent
Allowances.
